Rochdale Village residents are gathering together for a three-day viewing party in support of their community’s Olympic contender, Dalilah Muhammad. Dalilah is running 400m hurdles on behalf of Team USA in the track and field category. The viewing parties will span three days based upon Ms. Muhammad’s progression through Round 1 qualifying heats that begin Monday at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST). Winners of that match go on to the Semi-Finals on Tuesday, August 16 starting at 8:10 p.m. then the Final Competition on Thursday, August 18 at 9:15 p.m.
Dalilah’s parents, Nadirah and Askia Muhammad, and brother, are cheering her on from the sidelines in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Before leaving, the Muhammad’s shared their joy and excitement about this pinnacle moment in Dalilah’s running career with NY1 reporter, Ruschell Boone and about her running start with coach George Taylor of the Novas Track Club.
